Academy Directors

Nick Bona 
Girls Academy Director 

Coach Bona was hired as the Girls Academy Director in 2019.  Coach Bona has been coaching with De Pere Select since 2012, and has worked with teams at all ages within the club.  Coach Bona is passionate about soccer and that passion rubs off on his players.  He believes in challenging kids in a positive environment to enhance their abilities as a player and influencing their growth as an individual.

Coach Bona started his coaching career in 2009 after a stellar playing career at Notre Dame Academy and Marian University.  Where he earned multiple All-Conference nominations and an All-State Honorable Mention.  Since 2011, he has walked the sidelines of a high school girls program at both De Pere & West De Pere High Schools.

Wade Dozier
Boys Academy Director

With a USSF C license, coach Wade was hired as the Boys Academy Director in 2019.  Originally from Mazomanie, Wisconsin, coach Dozier has been coaching soccer for seven years and playing for twenty.  Coach Dozier has played with a variety of teams: Wisconsin Heights Soccer Club, Mount Horeb Soccer Club, four years on Varsity at Wisconsin Heights High School (Conference Honors and Team MVP his senior year), and played one year collegiality in Dubuque, Iowa. Coach Dozier entered the coaching world when he was a Junior in high school, helping to coach an Under 11 team in his local town.  After his playing career, he wanted to stay involved in the game he loves, and began pursing a coaching career immediately.

Coach Wade has been with De Pere Select since 2015, he has had the pleasure of coaching kids at the Academy level all the way through the High School level.  He enjoys working with players to help them grow in a sport they love.    


U10 Girls

Mike Picard holds a National D license and is a biology teacher at De Pere High School. While a student at De Pere, Picard captained the 1992 State Runner Up and 1993 State Championship soccer teams alongside DOC Dusty Rhodes. From there Picard went on to play college soccer at The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh making two NCAA tournament runs. He has coached soccer for 20 years including helping to lead the Appleton West Boys High School and Appleton North Girls High School teams to State appearances. Besides working with the De Pere Select U10 girls, he is a staff coach for FC Wisconsin Nationals focusing on ages U13-U16 as well an assistant coach for the De Pere High Schools girls program. 


Cayden Lasecki was part of Derek Rhodes first recruiting class at St. Norbert College where he transitioned into a holding midfield/center back role. He played 4 years of collegiate soccer winning a conference title and a conference tournament title his senior year leading to a trip to the NCAA tournament in 2016.  A Green Bay native and a Bay Port 3 year letterwinner, Was an FRCC all conference and press gazette all area performer as a forward in 2012 there as well. Grew up playing in the Howard Hurricane select program from u9-u18, where a national team at u11 turned to a premier league team already by u14. Been around the game since the age of 4 giving 19 years of soccer playing experience.

U8 Girls

Trisha Rhodes Coach Rhodes has 18 years experience with De Pere Select, the past three seasons with the Academy program. She holds a National D level coaching license. Her teams have a reputation for regularly earning State League promotion at multiple age levels.  Coach Rhodes had a longstanding position as the Varsity Girls coach at DePere High School, resigning after twelve years.  During her tenure as the leader of the Lady Redbirds her teams were a fixture at the WIAA State Tournament including: Four WIAA Division 1 appearances, Two State Final Appearances, and Seven Conference Championships.  Coach Rhodes was a four year starter in the central midfield at Edgewood College.  Her career included two NCAA Tournament appearances.  Four time conference champion, three time conference tournament champion. Trish is a mother to three: Cooper, Eleanor and Graham.

U10 Boys

Kyle Norman Kyle has been coaching in the De Pere Youth Academy program since 2015.  A Green Bay native, Kyle has more than 25 years of combined playing and coaching experience. He played for De Pere Select for his entire youth career starting at age 9. He is a De Pere High School graduate and a 4-year boys soccer varsity letterman.  He went on to play for the University of Whitewater-Wisconsin. He currently lives in Ashwaubenon with his wife Sara and three kids Ava, Ella, and Beckham.

Dan Nelson  Dan joined our coaching staff in fall 2018.  Dan started playing soccer at a young age in Milwaukee Area which included club soccer at Polonia, Milwaukee Kickers, Racine Spartans and Bavarians. He attended High School at Waukesha Catholic Memorial and was a 2 time state finalist and earned conference honorable mention as a goalkeeper his senior year. He continued his education and soccer career at Milwaukee School of Engineering where he played goalkeeper, midfielder and striker. He continues to play in local Men’s and Coed leagues.

While in high school at Catholic Memorial, Dan’s first coaching opportunity was as the women’s varsity goalkeeper coach; that season they were State and National Champions. In college Dan coached at Mequon United Academy and Cedarburg High School for 1 year. From 2015 to 2018 Dan coached recreational, academy and goalkeepers at United Hurricanes.

Dan’s passion for coaching stems from his father Jim Nelson, who was his youth soccer coach. Dan and his wife Ashley have 2 children, Beckham and Sydney, who they both have coached thus far in their young careers. Dan brings 30 plus years of coaching and playing experience and holds a USSF E license. Dan enjoys coaching to share his love for the sport but to also continue to grow today’s youth in team environments so they can be successful not only on the field but in the classrooms and future careers.

U8 Boys

Dennis Esposito Dennis has been coaching in our Academy program since 2018.  A fathers of two, Hope 11 and Carson 8. Dennis coached his kids teams for four years with Green Bay Strikers.  He played Rec, Club and High School Soccer and Baseball. He is currently living in Bellevue with his wife Katie and their 2 kids.
